Why we use Shea Butter

Mandarin and Peppermint, Lip Balm, Organic Botanicals

Naturally rich in vitamins A, E and F, Shea Butter is a skin superfood that comes from the Shea tree. It has a long history of medicinal use as it benefits not only the skin but your hair too. The concentration of natural vitamins and fatty acids in it makes the butter incredibly nourishing for the skin.

Shea butter aids the skin’s natural collagen production whilst also reducing wrinkles and strengthening the skin in the long term. It is very beneficial to all ages! It also helps inflammation so can help ease infections and reduce symptoms of acne.

I use Shea butter daily when I use our Lavender and Spearmint lip balm and see an incredible difference. It doesn’t just sit on top of your lips (like most balms I’ve come across) but the balm sinks in and moisturises my lips meaning it is great on its own but also works brilliantly beneath a lipstick that you may find drying.

Shea Butter is safe to use in products for pregnant women. It is found in our nipple balm and morning sickness balm which help soothe the journey of expecting mothers.
